Sylwester Stabryla is a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, earning his diploma in painting and graphic design in 2002. His artistic journey encompasses painting, graphics, and drawing, with notable series such as "True History," "In Search of Reality," "Paradise Lost," and "Before the Storm."
He has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Poland and abroad, earning accolades that include the Grand Prix "Genius Saeculi" in tribute to Magdalena Abakanowicz and the prestigious Grand Prix at the National Competition "Materia Medicinalis, Materia Artificialis." His work has also been recognized with the Award of the City of Sanok for special contributions to culture and art, along with a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for his "Iconostas" project.
In his art, Sylwester seamlessly intertwines reality with imagination, stating, “By following reality, I find an unreal world.” Using a realistic expression, he crafts deeply personal and intimate images that invite viewers into a labyrinth of symbols and layered interpretations. His paintings are symbolic visions that challenge the mind and captivate the senses, blending the meticulousness of academic drawing with vibrant, subjective colour. This eclectic approach not only emphasizes his unique style but also engages in a playful dialogue with the masterpieces of the Renaissance and beyond. Sylwester's art is born from keen observation, reflecting his environment, reality, and the depths of his personality.
