By profession I was one of those most uncreative of people, a quantity surveyor. Notwithstanding this I have, from a very young age, harboured a deep love of art and all things artistic.
In my younger days I travelled extensively and developed a passion for the cultures of north, east and west Africa and south east Asia. These journeys also inspired me to record the landscapes and scenes of everyday life which are so far removed from our own domestic experience. Unfortunately, most of the images recorded in those early days are lost forever.
In the last few years however, with children having grown up and a little more time being available, I have resumed my passion for recording beautiful and unusual images. Latterly I have concentrated on photographing the beauty in this country, especially the mountainous regions of north west England and the Highlands and Isles of Scotland. I have also experimented with the use of texture overlays which, when used sparingly and with good judgement, may enhance certain photographs,
In order to retain full artistic control over the finished picture I print, mount and frame (in bespoke purchased frames) each photograph.
