Agness Clark is a UK-based professional artist and commercial photographer whose creative journey is rooted in a rich educational background and diverse artistic practices. Born and raised in Poland, Agness completed her Master’s degree in Ceramics and Sculpture in 2001 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Her early artistic development took place at the High School of Art, where she cultivated a wide-ranging skill set that included photography, drawing, painting, graphic design, and sculpture. It was during this formative period that Agness honed her darkroom techniques, igniting a lifelong passion for photography.

After earning her Master’s degree, Agness relocated to London, seeking to expand both her education and artistic practice. In the vibrant art scene of the city, she exhibited her work in various galleries across the UK, engaging in creative interdisciplinary exploration that further enriched her artistic repertoire.

In addition to her fine art endeavors, Agness has established a successful career in commercial photography. Her portfolio is marked by versatility, encompassing a broad spectrum of clients and projects ranging from portraiture of actors, artists, and models to product, food, and interior photography. This adaptability has allowed her to meet diverse creative demands with skill and creativity.

Agness’s photographic work has garnered recognition, with her images featured in esteemed publications such as Elle Decoration, Country Living, and Home & Garden, as well as in several notable books. Her talent and dedication were acknowledged when her photographs were shortlisted for The British Photography Awards in both 2021 and 2023, further solidifying her status in the photography community.

In 2019, Agness made the picturesque town of Hastings her home, where she actively contributes to the local community and arts scene. Through her multifaceted artistic practice, Agness Clark continues to inspire and engage audiences with her unique vision and commitment to creativity.

Artist statement

In my artistic journey, I find immense joy in embracing change and exploring the vast landscape of creativity. I love to dive into various styles and techniques, whether it’s through photography, painting, or a blend of realistic and abstract elements. Each medium speaks to me in its own way, allowing me to express my thoughts and emotions differently.

My approach is deeply multidisciplinary. I often switch between different creative fields, finding inspiration in the unique qualities of each medium. This fluidity keeps my work fresh and exciting. I enjoy the challenge of combining various techniques, letting them interact and influence one another. It’s a thrilling process that reflects my own dynamic nature.

I see my art as a dialogue not just between different forms and ideas, but also between me and the viewer. I want my audience to engage with my pieces and find their own meanings within them. Art, to me, is about sharing the many stories we all carry, celebrating our shared experiences while also honoring our individuality. Each piece I create is an invitation to explore, reflect, and connect in a personal way.
